Another attractive destination for Grand Prix, it was for the first time in Cuba ever. After European Open in Madrid, IJF Tour continues with another Olympic qualification tournament, here in Havana. Team of Cuba selected 56 competitors in total, which is maximum for every organiser.

Pavia won another -57kg tournament, in final she beat Filzmoser by two waza-ari. This was her sixth won match against Austrian judoka, which celebrated only once against Automne Pavia, it was in 2010. Two surprises at the tournament as Marti Malloy (USA) and Myriam Roper of Germany did not succeed to reach the podium at the first Grand Prix in Cuba.

Georgian Papinashvili added 300 miles for him on IJF WRL as he was the winner in division U60kg. Fantastic ko-soto-gake movement against Takabatake (BRA) with quick tranisition in osae-komi for Amiran Papinashvili. Papinashvili needed only 55sec for gold medal in Cuba. In bronze medal fight Ashley McKenzie of Great Britain dominated against Arshanski (ISR).

In the category U66kg Mikhail Pulyaev defeated Sugoi Uriarte in Havana. His second big victory after the Grand Slam of Paris.

Cuban athletes won four medals, two gold, one silver and one bronze. However all of this medals were won in the womens competition.
